A Little Bit Of Summer

While I love Star Valley I must admit, the winters here are really difficult to get through and they aren’t anywhere near what they use to be (I’ve seen pictures.) I grew up in Northeast Florida so I love and crave sunshine! I am beginning to feel trapped in my little home and “summer” couldn’t come fast enough.

I never did finish processing the 4th of July photos I took of the town of Thayne’s morning activities. However, they are finished now and with this week’s storms I thought we could all use a little reminder that we DO indeed have somewhat of a summer :)

First up is my awfully adorable and handsome husband. He is a volunteer firefighter and loves it. Every 4th the department whips up a tasty pancake breakfast for the town complete with a special patriotic program!

For my out of towner family and friends. This is Clark Kelley Price. He lives “down the street” from us. Everybody lives “down the street” from us :) Anyway, a long time ago my father-in-law helped Brother Price with a broken leg during a pack trip of some sort. I think a boy scouts thing. My father-in-law gave him a blessing and Brother Price painted a painting of the scene. It now hangs in my parent-in-laws home and it is one of my favorites. I’ll have to snap a picture of it sometime and update this post with it later. The story in detail is pretty awesome and I love hearing my father-in-law share his experience about that day at family gatherings. If you aren’t familiar with Clark Kelley Price’s work, you can view some at his website here.

I love our new fire department! It looks awesome. These babies are getting ready for the parade. Something new they did this year was hire CrossRoadz Entertainment to play music and talk a little bit about the floats as they went by. It was great :) They also rented a bounce house and other fun games for the public to enjoy through out the day. This doubled as the Open House of the remodel being completed so the people of the town got to tour the firehouse and enjoyed some yummy food.

This was my favorite float.
