The Love She Gives – Star Valley Wyoming Portrait Photographer

February 28th, 2013

Mothers are amazing. They are inspiring. They nurture. They protect. They love. Mothers often stay behind the scenes, insecure about their looks and their ability to look great all the time. Whenever possible I try to encourage Mothers to step into the spotlight and have a photograph with their child or two. I am so glad [...]

Mothers often stay behind the scenes, insecure about their looks and their ability to look great all the time. Whenever possible I try to encourage Mothers to step into the spotlight and have a photograph with their child or two.

I am so glad Miss C requested a Mother/Daughter session. I am in love with it. In her mother’s home there are photographs of each child with their mother. Miss C wanted to continue that tradition. I think it is a wonderful idea. Miss C is such a beautiful Mom and her daughter is beyond cuteness!

Tim & Roni – Visit from the Fam – Star Valley, Wyoming

December 19th, 2012

I was so happy when my brother and his wonderful wife agreed to spend Thanksgiving with us. I was so happy when my brother and his wonderful wife agreed to spend Thanksgiving with us. It wasn’t quite the white wintry wonderland I was hoping they would get to experience for their first visit up here, but we still had fun. Timmy (yes, I still call him that) was even a great helper with chopping up wood and bringing it in for the winter (for John’s parents.) Toward the end of the visit, after all the hard work and play was done he said he thought it would be better to come back in the summer when there wasn’t so much work to be done. John and I of course found this hilarious (Farmers will understand why.) I didn’t have the heart to tell them back when the White’s had cows every Thanksgiving they would go and clean the barn out :)

I really wanted Tim and Roni to experience Wyoming life while they were up here. They experienced some mild farm work (gathering wood and getting horses ready for a sleigh ride.) Trekking up the mountains for a Christmas Tree. There was more snow up there than we had anticipated so we weren’t really dressed for the occasion. Thanksgiving Dinner with the White’s. Sleigh ride with the wagon (since there was no snow) in which Roni even got to drive the team :) We even did an old fashion Star Valley Black Friday Sale. Needless to say other then their Radio Shake Goodies it was a bust (most of the stores didn’t open until after 10am.)

And what weekend with family wouldn’t be complete without a photo session. I just love Roni and am so grateful that she is now my sista! I was so happy that Tim and Roni made it up here (our family is in UT and FL so we don’t get together very often.) Hopefully as our families grow it’ll be a fun tradition to rotate Holidays more often :)

Thanks for coming up guys!

J Family – Love This Family

I was happy to have the opportunity to photograph the J family. They are some awesome people and I have loved getting to know L and some of her children. I taught K in Primary and A in Young Women’s for a couple of years. I am constantly amazed and humbled by A’s attitude and perspective in life. It [...]

I was happy to have the opportunity to photograph the J family. They are some awesome people and I have loved getting to know L and some of her children. I taught K in Primary and A in Young Women’s for a couple of years. I am constantly amazed and humbled by A’s attitude and perspective in life. It is quite obvious that L and D are teaching their children well and that their children choose to do good things not just because Mom and Dad tell them, but because they choose to. L is one of my favorite role models as a mother and A gives me hope that I can have a daughter like her some day.

I love that the J’s are a “big” family. John and I have a desire to have a large family also (although we’re a little behind and might be slightly insane for having such a desire.) I love seeing large families that get a long so well. It’s quite different than what I am use to and gives me hope that I can have the same for our crazy insane family too :)

I loved meeting and working with this family. They were genuine and just all around awesome. One thing that really stuck out to me was how close they were. You could just feel the love and quality of their relationships, especially amongst the sisters, including their sister in law. It was inspiring to me.

I have a lot that I wanted to share from this session so I felt it best to highlight their images in a slideshow. Enjoy!
